Obama sends a mixed message

President Barack Obama is giving us mixed messages. In one breath he tells us he is “fighting for the poor and middle class.” In the next the says “tax the rich.” Having a good job is the key to overcoming the curse of being poor. Yet everything this president does makes everyone poorer. Median income is down by $4,300. That hurts every income level. More able-bodied men are unemployed than ever. Gas prices today are $3.84 a gallon, yet he stopped the Keystone Pipeline and his regulations have stopped oil exploration in this country. He says he has issued many permits to drill but his regulations stop everything, so drilling is not happening.

When you tax the “rich,” that takes money they could use for job expansion. No job equals being “poor.”

High gas prices hurt the poor that have jobs. They have to get to work. It costs $50 to $60, at least, to fill their gas tanks each week. The poor have to go to the grocery store. High gas prices makes growing food and getting it to the processors and then the grocery store cost a lot more. All this leaves a lot less of their already meager income to supply clothing, housing, electricity, heat, medical expense and the multitude of other needs a family has.

Considering just these two policies sends a clear message, that this president is not a friend of the poor or anyone else. He hurts them.

Everyone should consider this when they decide for whom they will vote.
