When we were younger and on a tighter budget, our money had to be spent on the necessary things, like house payments, food, utilities, etc. The extras had to be put on the back burner until we could afford them. Policemen and firemen are necessary. The downtown project, more sidewalks, trails, etc. are extras and should be put on the back burner until there’s more money in the budget.
