St. John’s Auxiliary met at 2 p.m. Sept. 17 in St. John’s Chapel. President Carol Rask welcomed everyone.
The Rev. Krista Stokka led the group in devotions. Becky Nordland on piano led the group in singing “I Love To Tell The Story” and “He’s Got The Whole World In His Hands.”
Auxiliary Secretary Bonnie Schneider read the minutes of the August meeting. Treasurer Lorraine Schoper gave her report. Both were approved as read.
Volunteer Coordinator Carol Reichel reported 871 volunteer hours in August, eight-hour day care and one You & Me Club.
Diane Wichmann, activities director, reported on resident activities for October:
• Oct 1: Farm tour at the home of Jerry and Lois Epland
• Oct. 2: LA Sass performs at 10:30 a.m.
Oct. 5: Music by John Ulland at 10:30 a.m.
Oct. 9: Albert Lea High School volleyball game at 6:30 p.m.
Oct. 11: Kennel dog show at 6:30 p.m.
Oct. 12: Music by Johnny Bird at 10:30 a.m.
Oct. 17: Music by cowgirl Lisa Murphy at 10:30 a.m.
Oct. 19. Music by Richie Z at 10:30 a.m.
Oct. 20: Music by Dunnell Lenort at 2 p.m.
Oct. 21: Albert Lea High School football game
Oct. 22: Gospel music by Carol and Charley Reed at 10 a.m.
Oct. 25: Magic show by Mike Prestby at 10:30 a.m.
Oct. 30: Haunted house tour at 10 a.m.
Oct. 31: Day care Halloween costume parade and a Halloween party at 2 p.m. with a costume contest and music by the Dale Peterson band
Rask read the names of residents celebrating September birthdays. The birthday song was sung.
Churches thanked for serving Sunday coffee were: St. Paul Lutheran of Conger, United Methodist, and Community Lutheran of Geneva.
The program was provided by Norrine Jensen of Beaver Lake, a retired music teacher in Albert Lea. She sang and played on piano many beautiful songs.
Refreshments were provided by Sue Barnes, 2nd South and St. John’s Dietary Department. The pumpkin bars were delicious.
The meeting was closed with the Lord’s Prayer.
