Current members of the Book Club recently dedicated a ginkgo tree in memory of original members Esther Selzer, Anne Ehrhardt and Marge Gordon. The ginkgo, which is associated with memory, was planted on North Shore Drive near a bench memorializing the three. The group’s first meeting was in 1978 when they gathered around Marge Gordon’s kitchen table and discussed “Rachel, the Rabbi’s Wife” by Silvia Tennebaum. Since then more than 350 books have been discussed. Shown at the dedication are current members JoAnne Barr, Fran Skovlund, Sue Gutnecht, Vergie Asper, Jane Johnson, Shirlie Brownlow, Joan Schwartz, Pat Parsons, Barb Butler, Carole Bower and Peggy Swenson.
