Lake Mills gets trounced

LAKE MILLS — The Lake Mills football team got routed by Prairie Valley Friday night. The loss brings their record to 3-4 on the year.
Lake Mills only managed a mere 28 rushing yards to go along with their 100 passing yards for a total of 128 yards on the night. They were shut out by a score of 35-0.
Prairie Valley (5-2) amassed a whopping 323 yards rushing on their way to victory, with 105 passing yards for a total of 428 yards in the game.
Prairie Valley, of Gowrie, Iowa, scored in the second quarter with a 4-yard touchdown run followed a successful point after kick. Another touchdown run of 2 yards followed that. That extra point failed and the score at the half was 13-0.
The third quarter had Prairie Valley doing all the scoring once again. They started with a 25-yard field goal. They would score two more times in the quarter; one was a 27-yard run, and the other was a 63-yard pass for touchdowns. Both conversions failed.
At the end of three quarters of play, Prairie Valley led Lake Mills 28-0.
The pace slowed a bit in the final quarter with only one score by Prairie Valley, and that was on a 3-yard touchdown run followed by a point after kick.
Next up for the Bulldogs will be the 5-3 AGWSR at Ackley on Friday.
