The New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva boys’ and girls’ cross country teams ran in the Gopher Valley Conference meet in Sherburn on Tuesday.
T.J. Schiltz led the boys’ team with a first-place finish and time of 16 minutes, 28 seconds.
“He took charge at about the three-quarter mile mark and never looked back,” Panthers coach Mike Weber said. “T.J. is really starting to focus now and he is on a mission each time he steps up to the starting line.”
Katharine Lewer led the Panther girls with a 14th-place finish and time of 16:55.
“She had her best time of the year and an All-Conference performance,” Weber said. “She ran focused and really looked great from start to finish. Tonight, she was well deserving of that All-Conference recognition.”
As a whole, both teams placed ninth out of 10 teams. Weber said many athletes ran season best times.
