School boards get set for Tuesday

Several surrounding communities have contested school board races. There was no primary election in any of the school board races and filing ended Aug. 14. Seats that will be decided Tuesday include the following:
New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva
Five candidates will be on the ballot for three available seats on the New Richland-Hartland-Ellendale-Geneva School District’s school board. All three incumbents, Lori Routh, of Hartland, Michele Moxon, of New Richland, and Mike Moen, of New Richland, are again running. The remaining two candidates are Jay Crabtree, of Ellendale, and Peggy Radjenovich, of Clarks Grove.
United South Central
Four candidates are competing for three available seats on United South Central School District’s school board. Kathy Krebsbach, the current school board chairwoman, of Walters, is running for re-election along with incumbent Steve Navara, of Wells. The remaining two candidates are Mike Schrader, of Wells, and Molly Loegering, of Bricelyn.
Glenville-Emmons
Four people are running for three available seats on Glenville-Emmons School District’s school board. Two incumbents, Susie Miller and Lisa Hajek, filed for election. The remaining two candidates are Lonny Hagen and Lindy Fredrickson. All four candidates list their residence as Glenville.
Alden-Conger
Three people will be on the ballot for the three available seats on the Alden-Conger School District’s school board. Two incumbents are again running, both Ryan Merkouris, of Albert Lea, and Kris Neel, of Alden. The third candidate is Ron Redman, of Alden.
Albert Lea
Five people are competing for three seats on the Albert Lea school board. Incumbents Linda Laurie, Bill Leland and Kim Nelson will appear on the ballot along with newcomers Jenny Edwin and Julie Johnson.
In a special school board election, Jeshua Erickson will be the only candidate to appear on the ballot for a two-year seat on the board.
