AUSTIN — An Austin coffee shop will soon serve its customers their last cup.
The Morning Grind’s last day of business will be Dec. 31. Daneen Theobald, who owns the drive-through coffee shop on First Avenue Southwest with her husband, Brian, said it was time for them to move on.
“We just weren’t making it,” she said. “The last six months have been tough on us.”
Daneen said she looks forward to spending more time with her grandchildren, though she will miss the people who came by the shop. Many of them were regulars and were sad to hear it was closing.
“I absolutely want to thank the community for supporting us as long as they did,” she said. “We would never have been able to do this without them.”
The shop has been open nearly nine years. It went up for sale a few months ago.
