Evelyn Oseland, 94, Crosby

Evelyn “Marie” Oseland, 94, of Crosby, died Nov. 15, 2012, at her granddaughter’s home (Richard and Denise Olson) in rural Ellendale.
Marie was born on April 7, 1918, in rural Crosby to Carl and Ella (Miller) Peterson. She married Philip “Dan” Oseland on May 21, 1937, in Fairfield Township. She was a resident near Lake Adney in rural Crosby for most of her life. She was co-owner and operated a fabric/dry goods store in Crosby. She also was a census worker. Marie was a member of the Emily United Methodist Church. She enjoyed working as a church treasurer, Sunday school teacher and ladies aid member of many years.
She also enjoyed entertaining and made sure that everyone who entered her home was well-fed. Her hobbies included sewing, crafts, gardening and fishing.
She is survived by her grandchildren, Dan (Susan Symes) Hagen of Geneva; Don (Dori) Hagen of rural Blooming Prairie; Denise (Richard) Olson of rural Ellendale; and David (Joan) Hagen of Blooming Prairie; great-grandchildren, Justin, Brandon (Kelli), Matthew, Jared and Kristin Hagen; Phillip and Erik (Sheena) Olson; Morgan, Taylor and Gabriel Hagen; and two great-great-grandchildren, many loving nieces, nephews and special friends, Terri and Roger Mauel.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband Dan; daughter Dorothy (Dode); son-in-law, Richard Hagen; brother and sister-in-law, Howard “Bud” and Lois Peterson.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the United Methodist Church in Emily. Burial will be at the Lakewood Cemetery in Crosby. Friends may call at the Koop Funeral Home in Crosby today from 3 to 6 p.m. and Wednesday one hour prior to the services at the church.
