Franken campaign begins with Thanksgiving recipes

MINNEAPOLIS — Just in time for Thanksgiving, Sen. Al Franken and his wife Franni are offering their favorite holiday recipes.
“Al’s Wild Rice Stuffing” and “Franni’s Pureed Butternut Squash” are just a couple of the offerings that appear in a new email from Franken’s re-election committee.
It’s a gentle message from a senator whose campaign for a second term began right after Election Day earlier this month. Franken is seen nationally as a target for Republicans after he narrowly won his first term by recount in 2008.
No Republicans have stepped forward yet to challenge Franken.
