Transportation officials in Iowa and Minnesota reopened I-35 between Albert Lea and Ames, Iowa, this morning.
The closing had left Albert Lea parking lots near Exit 11 filled with big rigs.
Northerly winds reached 25 mph Thursday afternoon in Albert Lea as a blizzard moved through southern Minnesota, most of Iowa and southern Wisconsin.
The storm dumped 5 1/2 inches of snow on Albert Lea, according to KATE-AM radio.
