A second person is in critical condition
A 61-year-old Gibbon man is dead and three other people are injured after two cars collided head-on Saturday night on Highway 63 in Mower County.
David Rettmann was driving a 1999 Chevrolet Monte Carlo southbound on the highway near mile marker 24 when it collided with a 2011 Kia OLX with three people inside, according to the Minnesota State Patrol.
The driver of the Kia, an unnamed 29-year-old from Rochester, was in critical condition, while the other two passengers — Rebecca Isaacs, 28, of Rochester, and Marquetta Palmer, 17, city unknown — suffered injuries that were not life-threatening.
Grand Meadow police, fire and ambulance services arrived at the scene, along with Stewartville Fire, Gold Cross Ambulance and Mayo One. Conditions on the undivided roadway were dry. The State Patrol is investigating.
More information is expected to be released later.
