Matt and Connie Kermes of Hayward announce the engagement of their daughter, Whitney Marie Kermes, to Peter John Petersen, the son of Doug and Connie Petersen of Bigelow.

The bride is a 2006 graduate of Albert Lea High School and a 2010 graduate of Minnesota State University-Mankato. She is co-owner of Impulse Dance in Mankato.

The groom is a 2004 graduate of Worthington High School and a 2007 graduate of South Central College. He is employed by Emergent Networks of Edina as a systems engineer.

A private wedding is being planned in Lutsen for July 5. A reception is scheduled for July 27 in Albert Lea.
