Legion to play Century

The Albert Lea/Austin American Legion baseball team will host the First District tournament this week at Marcusen Park.
Albert Lea/Austin will open the double elimination tournament at Rochester Century against the Rochester A’s Tuesday, and the tournament will move to Marcusen on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday.
Albert Lea/Austin (8-13 overall) enters the tournament as a No. 6 seed. The Rochester Patriots are the top-seed, Owatonna is No. 2, the Rochester A’s are No. 3, the Rochester Redhawks are No. 4, Winona is No. 5, Faribault is No. 7 and Kasson is No. 8.
If Albert Lea/Austin beats the A’s Tuesday, it will play against the winner of Faribault and Owatonna Thursday at 4 p.m. at Marcusen.
If Albert Lea/Austin loses to the A’s, it will play an elimination game Friday at 1 p.m. at Marcusen.
The District title game is scheduled for Sunday at 1 p.m. If needed, a second game would be played at 4 p.m.
Admission for the games is free for students and adults 65 and older. The cost is $2 for adults younger than 65.
