Local rock musicians take to the Lighthouse stage this Saturday

Local talent takes the stage this Saturday in Albert Lea.

The Lighthouse Event Center will have a Rockin’ the Lighthouse concert starting at 7:30 p.m. Saturday.

Tickets are $5 and are available at Marshall Street Music, Hy-Vee and Stadheim Jewelers in Albert Lea and at Coffee House on Main in Austin.

The Lighthouse Event Center is at 621 Marshall St. in Albert Lea.

 

Friday

• The Freeborn County Humane Society will host a Buckets on Broadway fundraiser from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the corners of Broadway and Main. The shelter hopes to raise $10,000 to help with operating expenses and care for the animals.

• The Pelican Breeze II hosts a pizza cruise. The cruise leaves at 6 p.m., and reservations are needed by 4 p.m. by calling Albert Lea Parks & Rec at 377-4370. Cost is $20, and Green Mill will be serving food and beverages.

• Albert Lea Community Theatre presents “Happy Days, a New Musical” at 7:30 p.m. at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $18 for adults and $10 for children.

 

Saturday

• The Shinefest Tractor Ride will go through Myrtle, London and Glenville this year. A breakfast is at 7:30 a.m. and the ride begins at 9 a.m. at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds.

• The Albert Lea Farmers Market will be open from 9 a.m. to noon in the North Broadway parking lot.

• Albert Lea Community Theatre presents “Happy Days, a New Musical” at 7:30 p.m. at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $18 for adults and $10 for children.

• The 112 on Broadway will have musical entertainment by Rush Hour starting at 8 p.m.

• Geneva Bar & Grill hosts the Johnny Holm Band at 9 p.m. for its sixth anniversary week.

 

Sunday

• The VFW Post No. 447 hosts a breakfast and veteran exhibit at the Albert Lea American Legion from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The exhibit will honor veterans who served in the military during the Korean War era of 1950 to 1960. The breakfast is open to the public; menu includes pancakes, eggs, sausage, potatoes, fruit, and a beverage. Cost is $7 for adults and free for children age 6 and younger.

• The Pelican Breeze II hosts a public cruise at 1:30 p.m. No reservations are needed, and cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children age 5 and younger.
