Senior Resources’ Family Caregivers Network is sponsoring a free workshop on Alzheimer’s and other dementias from 2 to 4 p.m. Thursday. The event will be at the Freeborn County Historical Society meeting room.

Anyone in the community is welcome, especially those involved in caregiving.

Karen Hanson, from Home Instead Senior Care, will address two topics:

1. Techniques for handling challenging behaviors — ideas that work for a variety of difficult behaviors.

2. Activities to encourage engagement — staying active for benefits to body, mind and soul. Learn activities suitable for those with early to late stage Alzheimer’s.
