The Albert Lea school board on Monday approved its 2014 final levy.

The total levy for next year is $7,830,899. That is a $688,244 decrease from 2013’s levy of $8,519,142, an 8.1 percent drop.

The voter-approved referendum for 2014 was $2,110,747, which was $1,058,241 less than 2013’s $3,168,988. The total general fund for 2014 will be 4,336,397, which is $737,437 less than 2013.

The community service fund for 2014 will be $239,072 compared to 2013’s $231,286. The debt service fund for 2014 was set at $3,255,430, $41,407 more than 2013.
