Schools close for blizzard

Albert Lea Area Schools will be closed Thursday because of a blizzard forecast for the region.

Other schools closed Thursday are Alden-Conger, Austin, Blooming Prairie, Glenville-Emmons, Hollandale Christian, Lake Mills, Lyle, Northwood-Kensett, Owatonna, St. Theodore and Waseca also will be closed.

Head Start of Freeborn County, Riverland Community College and United Preschool will be closed, too.
