House beam catches fire

A small portion of a wooden beam of a house at 714 Lincoln Ave. was reported on fire at 8:48 p.m. Wednesday.

Albert Lea Fire Capt. Scott Hanna said there was smoke in the house. The portion of the beam that was on fire was about the size of an ashtray. He did not have a cause.
