Police arrested Matthew David Block, 31, for first-degree burglary at 3:57 a.m. today after a reported burglary at 1119 W. Front St.

Police stated a person in the house heard someone coming up the stairs. The person began to yell, and Block reportedly took off running. Police followed tracks from the house to a vehicle, where they found Block.

 

3 arrested for DWI

Albert Lea police arrested Nicholas Brian Quam, 29, for fourth-degree driving while intoxicated and Megan Lynn Shahan, 23, for fifth-degree domestic assault at 10:57 p.m. Saturday at 122 Bridge Ave.

Albert Lea police arrested Homer Valente Canales, 34, for second-degree driving while intoxicated, third-degree test refusal and driving after revocation after a traffic stop at 2:11 a.m. Sunday at the intersection of West Front Street and South Washington Avenue.

Police arrested Adam John Murphy, 34, for driving while intoxicated after a reported hit-and-run crash at the intersection of East Fifth Street and Frank Avenue at 2:19 a.m. today.

 

Hit-and-run crashes reported

A PT Cruiser at 809 Cedar Ave. was reported hit sometime overnight Saturday.

A hit-and-run crash was reported at 335 W. Clark St. at 10:30 a.m. Sunday.

 

Woman arrested for disorderly conduct, assault

Police arrested Charisse Marie Vega, 34, for disorderly conduct and fifth-degree assault after a reported fight at 1:37 a.m. Sunday at 134 W. William St.

 

Man suffers burns

Albert Lea police received a report of a man who suffered acid burns on his arm at Cargill, 702 E. 13th St., at 11:22 a.m. Saturday. He was transported to the hospital. No other information was available as of press time.

 

Burglary reported

A house was reported broken into at 9:07 a.m. at 707 S. Third Ave.
