Weekend Planner: Breakfast will celebrate Scouting

Pack 11 Cub Scouts will celebrate scouting with French Toast Breakfast from 9 a.m. to noon Sunday at Luther Hall in Redeemer Lutheran Church in Alden.
Pack 11 Cub Scouts will serve French toast, ham, scrambled eggs. There will also be a bake sale to fund scouting activities.
Cub Scouting is a family organization that teaches boys in first through fifth grade to do their best, be helpful and leave no trace when camping. Scouting teaches family values and works to strengthen family relationships.
Boys may join Cub Scouts at any time in grades 1 to 5.
Friday
An open house for the “50 Shades of Red” art exhibit will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Albert Lea Art Center.
• The musical “Guys on Ice” will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center. Tickets are $18 for adults and $10 for students. Tickets may be purchased over the phone by calling Albert Lea Community Theatre. “Guys on Ice” is a musical comedy that tells the story of two ice-fishing buddies from Wisconsin who talk and sing about life, love and the one that got away.
• Lakeview students will perform “Alladin and His Magic Lamp” at 7 p.m. at the Albert Lea High School auditorium. Cost for adults is $5, students $2, children 5 and under are free.
Saturday
• Lakeview Elementary students will perform “Alladin and His Magic Lamp” at 10 a.m. at the Albert Lea High School auditorium.
• Take a Kid Ice Fishing will be from 9 a.m. to noon at Edgewater Bay.
• Big Freeze Ice Bowl disc golf will be at 10 a.m. at Edgewater Park. Registration is from 9 to 9:30 a.m.
• Moving & Grooving is Snow Much Fun will be from 10 a.m.to noon, Edgewater Park
• Snowshoe Shuffle will be at 11 a.m. at the Edgewater Bay Pavilion
• A chili cookoff will from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Edgewater Bay Pavilion.
• The Shinefest Polar Bear Tractor Ride will begin at noon and pass through Edgewater Park.
• Geocaching Bingo will be from 1 to 2 p.m. at Edgewater Park.
• The Blue Ice Plunge will be at 12:30 p.m. at Edgewater Bay.
• A Kids Winter Carnival will be from noon to 3 p.m. at Edgewater Park.
• Horse-drawn wagon rides will be available 1 to 3 p.m. at Edgewater Park.
• A performance of “Guys on Ice,” will be at 7:30 p.m. at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.
• A heart fund dinner will be at the Eagles Club. Steak, shrimp and chicken will be served. Entertainment will be by “Arlene & Butch.”
Sunday
• A pancake breakfast will be at the Masonic Lodge from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pancakes, eggs, sausage, orange juice and coffee will be served by the Albert Lea cross country team.
• The Kiwanis pancake breakfast will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fairlane Building at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds. The cost is $7 and proceeds will benefit area children.
• “Guys on Ice” will be at 2 p.m. at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center.
