Kids joked with friends and shrieked with laughter as they played each other in Old Maid, defeated their siblings in Connect Four and helped each other stay upright as they skated around the ice rink during one Terrific Tuesday.
About 21 children participated in the day camp at City Arena. The program was geared towards elementary-age kids and ran from 10 a.m. until 3:30 in the afternoon. Kids got to enjoy a movie, games, crafts, ice skating and a pizza lunch.
Parks and Recreation Program Supervisor Jenny Davis said programs similar to Terrific Tuesday have been going on over the duration of her eight years in the position, and probably even longer.
“It’s just a great way to get kids out of the house for a little while to have some fun,” Davis said.
