Visitation for Dawn Marie Omvig, 53, of Albert Lea, will be from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 4  to 6 p.m. Saturday at West-Kjos Funeral Home in Detroit Lakes, followed by interment at Bakke Lutheran Cemetery this spring.  Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral.com.

Dawn died March 3, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society.

Dawn Marie Omvig was born on Feb. 14, 1961, to Orlin and Joyce (Schoon) Poplow in Austin.  She grew up on a farm in rural Albert Lea. On June 9, 1984, she was married to Donald Omvig in Detroit Lakes. Dawn was a member of the Eagle’s and Duck’s Unlimited. Most recently, she was working at Lou Rich. She enjoyed going to Deer Creek Speedway, reading and camping.  Most of all, she enjoyed time spent with her family at barbeques, going to the movies with grandchildren and going up north.

Survivors include her daughter, Roxanne (Scott) Saltou; stepchildren Cory (Julie) Omvig, Travis Lambert, Stacy (Tony) Brahmer and Darcy (Marty)Hanson; grandchildren Brandon, Paige, Dylan, Sierra, Dakota, Alyssa, Jessica, Josh, Gage and Reno; brothers Jeff Poplow, ElRoy (Shannon) Poplow, and Roger Poplow; uncles Gary Poplow and Ben (Kathy) Schoon; aunt, Sandra (Mel) Schewe; nieces Courtney and Chelsea; nephews Tyler and Colton; and great-niece Arayah.

Dawn was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, and her parents Orlin and Joyce Poplow.
