Eugene Bolinger, 88, Albert Lea

Funeral services for Eugene F. Bolinger of Albert Lea will be 11 a.m. Thursday at the Bonnerup Funeral Service Chapel in Albert Lea. The Rev. George Marin will officiate. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 4 to 7 p.m. and one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Military honors will be accorded by the Albert Lea Area Veterans Groups.

Eugene died March 1, 2014, at St Marys Hospital in Rochester. He was 88.

Eugene was born Sept. 5, 1925, in Mapleton, the son of John and Bonnie (Kramer) Bolinger. He attended public school and served in the U.S. Navy. He was employed for more than 35 years at Continental Castings in Albert Lea.

Eugene was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching football and golf on TV.

He is survived by his children John Bolinger of Albert Lea, Danny Bolinger of Albert Lea, Terry (Debbie) Bolinger of Albert Lea, Tom (Colleen) Bolinger of Albert Lea and Steve Bolinger of Albert Lea. There are 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Also surviving are five brothers Bill (Zelma) Bolinger of Austin, Donald (Juanita) Bolinger of Alexandria, Jack (Hannah) Bolinger of Mason City, Jerry (Bonnie) Bolinger of Manchester, Galen (Sandy) Bolinger of Manchester and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sons Dale and Mark, daughter Diane Broitzman and sister Lavella Hoyt.
