Albert Lea boys’ golf team takes 3rd at Chaska

The Albert Lea boys’ golf team took third place out of 13 teams Monday at the Chaska Invitational.
Lucas Peterson led the Tigers by finishing the course one stroke under par with a score of 71, said Albert Lea coach Riley Worth. He earned runner-up medalist honors in a field of 78 golfers. The medalist from Edina shot a 70.
Peterson was one of three Albert Lea golfers to finish in the 70s. Adam Syverson came in second for the Tigers with a 77, and Alex Syverson was third with a 79. Brent Nafzger rounded out Albert Lea’s scoring with an 81.
The Tigers hit the road again at 2:30 p.m. today at Owatonna Country Club for a triangular against Owatonna and Mankato West.
