The Alden-Conger softball team won the battle of Knights mascots Tuesday at home 14-13 against Lake Crystal-Wellcome Memorial in an extra inning.

“It was a heck of a ballgame to be involved in,” said Alden-Conger coach Gary Nelson. “(It was) too bad somebody had to lose. It was back and forth.”

Alden-Conger pitcher Jessica Price drove in the game-winning run with two outs in the bottom of the eighth on with a 1-2 count, Nelson said.

Cassie Gilster led Alden-Conger at the plate by going 3-for-5 with a double, a triple and four RBIs.
