Albert Lea boys’ golf team finishes 1 stroke behind top team at subsection

On an overcast day with light sprinkles didn’t slow down the Albert Lea boys’ golf team.
The Tigers qualified for the Section 2AA tournament with a second-place finish at the Subsection 2AA South tournament Tuesday at North Links Golf Course in Mankato.
According to Tigers coach Riley Worth, the Tigers took second place with a score of 312. Mankato East completed the course in 311 strokes to take first place.
Lucas Peterson led Albert Lea with a score of 76. Alex Syverson trailed Peterson by one stroke and filled the Tigers’ No. 2 scoring spot. Brady Loch completed the course in 78 strokes, and Adam Syverson rounded out the scoring with an 81.
Next, Albert Lea will play at the Section 2AA tournament at 10 a.m. Monday at New Prague Golf Course.
