St. Theodore Catholic School fifth-grader Josie Bolinger drops dirt at the base of a Princeton elm tree while Albert Lea Parks and Recreation Department worker Montee Santee holds it at New Denmark Park on Friday. The city workers and the school’s students planted the trees as part of a belated observance of Arbor Day, which normally is the last Friday in April. It had been postponed due to weather. Cargill employees and city workers planted trees Friday at Sondergaard Park. Cargill adopted Sondergaard Park through the city’s Adopt-A-Park program. — Tim Engstrom/Albert Lea Tribune
