Wolverines fall in play-in game

The Glenville-Emmons softball team was an out away from keeping its season alive.
However, the Wolverines fell 9-8 at Medford in a play-in game for the Section 1A tournament.
Glenville-Emmons head coach Lisa Ziebell said her team led 8-4 and hadn’t trailed until Medford scored five runs with two outs in the bottom of the seventh inning.
“We had some good hits and six solid innings,” she said. “Hopefully, the experience we gained will help us pick it up next year.”
Madi Ziebell led the Wolverines from the pitching circle and at the plate. She pitched all seven innings, retired four batters, walked two and allowed 11 hits. In the batters box, Ziebell was four-for-four with two doubles, a triple, two RBIs and a run scored. Lani Poole was 3-for-4 with a double, triple, RBI, stolen base and run scored.
The season ended for he Wolverines with a 1-11 overall record.
