The Albert Lea Legion Post 56 baseball team posted its first shutout of the season.

After a 10-0 loss at the Rochester A’s on Friday, Albert Lea beat Blue Earth 10-0 in six innings Monday at Hayek Field.

Tristin Muilenburg went the distance on the mound for Albert Lea. He struck out four batters and allowed three hits and one walk.

Post 56 had over three times as many hits. Johnathan Fleek and Makael Lunning tied Blue Earth’s team hit total as individuals, and four other Albert Lea batters registered hits. Wyatt Paulsen and Sam Moyer led Post 56 by driving in two runs each.

Next, Albert Lea (2-3 overall) will host Austin at 7 p.m. tonight.

The two teams joined forces last season and met in the season-opener this season. Albert Lea will attempt to avenge an 8-3 loss on June 12 at Marcusen Park.

After the loss to Austin, Albert Lea rebounded by splitting a doubleheader at Owatonna.
