Severe thunderstorm warning in effect

A severe thunderstorm delivered strong rains to Freeborn County this evening. Rains continue, but the worst has moved to the east.
The National Weather Service had issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Freeborn and Faribault counties. It was in effect until 7 p.m. It remained in effect for eastern Freeborn County until 7:30 p.m.
People could expect 70 mph gusts and quarter-sized hail, the warning states. Pea-sized hail fell in Albert Lea. Austin reported nickel-sized hail. Residents were to be on alert for possible tornadoes.
A tornado warning has been issued for the Brownsdale area of Mower County until 7:45 p.m. Radar indicated rotation.
A flash flood warning is in effect for much of southern Minnesota including Freeborn, Faribault, Waseca and Steele counties until Tuesday morning.
Mower, Olmsted and Dodge counties are in a severe thunderstorm warning until 7:30 p.m. So are the Iowa counties of Cerro Gordo, Franklin, Hancock, Humboldt and Wright counties. Tornadoes were spotted north of Mason City, south of Goodell and near Clear Lake. Worth and Winnebago counties were in a severe T-storm warning until 6:45 p.m.
The National Weather Service has issued a tornado watch for Freeborn, Steele and Waseca counties.
The tornado watch was in effect until 8 p.m. today. A flood warning for the region remained in effect until 8:30 p.m., too.
A tornado warning was in effect for southern Cerro Gordo, northern Franklin, southeastern Hancock and northeastern Wright counties until 7:30 p.m. A tornado was spotted six miles northeast of Belmond.
Another tornado warning has been issued for northern Pocahontas, southern Palo Alto, northern Humboldt and southern Kossuth counties until 7 p.m.
The National Weather Service in Iowa has issued a tornado warning for southeastern Martin County in Minnesota and northwestern Kossuth County and for northeastern Emmet County in Iowa. A severe thunderstorm capable of producing tornadoes looms over the area. The warning was in effect until 5:45 p.m.
A tornado watch is in effect for several counties in Iowa north of Interstate 80, including the northern Iowa counties of Winnebago, Hancock, Humboldt, Wright and Kossuth. It expires at 8 p.m.
A tornado and golf-ball-sized hail were confirmed near Wakefield, Neb., at 4:55 p.m., according to the National Weather Service. A tornado warning was in effect there until 5:30 p.m. It was expected to move toward Jackson in Minnesota.
A funnel cloud was spotted 13 miles southwest of Spencer, Iowa. A tornado warning was in effect in Clay County until 5:30 p.m.
