Northwood plans Fourth of July weekend

NORTHWOOD — Northwood will have its annual Fourth of July festivities on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

A 7 a.m. breakfast at the Methodist Church will start off the weekend on the Fourth of July, followed by a parade at 11 a.m.. After the parade there will be food, inflatables and Miss Northwood at the Worth County Fairgrounds. There will be a pool party that evening, along with a street dance, beer garden and fireworks. The festivities will continue on Saturday with the TUNE Run/Walk, a softball tournament and more, with the softball tournament carrying over into Sunday.

Independence Day

7-9:30 a.m.: Breakfast by the Methodist Men at the Methodist Church

11 a.m.: Parade

Following the parade at the Worth County Fairgrounds: Food vendors (Signatures, R & A Concessions, Mini Donuts of Northwood), Inflatables, Half Pint the Clown

2 p.m.: Miss, Mr., Jr. Miss, Jr. Mr., Little Miss, Little Mr., and other awards in the Shelter House of the fairgrounds

3 p.m.: Lions Club Duck Race at Swensrud Park

3 p.m.: Horseshoes at Swensrud Park

3 p.m.: Bags tournament at the fairgrounds

3 p.m.: FFA Pedal Pull at the Shelter House of the fairgrounds

6 p.m.: K-12 pool party, music, games and food at Northwood Swimming Pool

6 p.m.: Beer garden opens on Central Ave. Food vendors (Mr. Taco and R & A Concessions)

9 p.m.: Rhino performs in the beer garden.

10 p.m.: Fireworks at Northwood Airport

 

Saturday July 5

8:30 a.m.: TUNE run/walk beginning at Northwood Movie Theater

9 a.m.: Softball tournament begins

1 p.m.: NKCEF annual golf tournament at Northwood Country Club

6 p.m.: Beer garden opens. Food vendors (Mr. Taco and R & A Concessions)

9 p.m.: Cherry Gun performs in the beer garden.

 

Sunday July 6

9 a.m.: Softball tournament continues
