Bulldogs pass for 3 TDs in loss to Eagles

The Lake Mills football team found success through the air but fell 40-28 Friday at home against West Hancock.
The Bulldogs completed seven passes for 166 yards, including a 59-yard touchdown toss by Granger Kingland to Grant Boehmer in the third quarter.
After trailing at 18-6 at halftime, Kingland’s pass cut Lake Mills’ deficit to six points, 18-12.
West Hancock responded with a 15-yard touchdown run by Connor Sonius, but the Bulldogs pulled within four points, 24-20, with a 44-yard scoring strike from Kingland to Tanner Escherich.
The Eagles extended their lead with two rushing touchdowns to take a 40-20 lead, and Lake Mills tacked on its third touchdown pass of the game — a 25-yard throw from Josh Peters to Boehmer.
Next, Lake Mills (0-2 overall) will play at 7 p.m. next Friday at St. Ansgar, a team that has not been scored on this season. The Saints are 2-0 with a 27-0 win at Newman Catholic and a 44-0 home win Friday against Osage.
