The Lake Mills volleyball team began the season by sweeping Garner-Hayfield/Ventura.

“I am very pleased with tonight’s level of play all around,” said Bulldogs coach Jim Boehmer. “To go on the road and get a win is big to start the season.”

Game scores were 25-21, 25-19 and 25-23.

Sydney Larson, Cede Byrnes and Hailey Borgmeyer led Lake Mills offensively at the net. The trio combined with 26 kills.

Along with tying Borgmeyer with a team-high nine kills, Brynes led the Bulldogs with 13 digs, while Emily Orban added nine.

Next, Lake Mills will play at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Algona Tournament.
