Dan Toenges and Sue Toenges of Albert Lea and the late Jonathan Simmons and Viola Simmons of Lake Mills announce the engagement of their children, Meka Nielsen and Nickolas Simmons.

The bride is a 1995 graduate of Albert Lea High School. She attended Riverland Community College and graduated from Rochester Community College as a licensed dental assistant. She is employed at Uptown Dental in Albert Lea.

The groom is a 1998 graduate of a North Iowa High School. He is a certified welder and is employed by Winnebago Industries in Lake Mills.

A wedding is planned for Oct. 4, 2014, at Pickerel Lake Church.
