Northwood-Kensett football team wins 3rd straight

After starting the season with a pair of losses, the Northwood-Kensett football team reeled off three straight wins.
The Vikings’ latest victory was 47-6 Friday at Riceville.
Coleby Bratrud was one of three Northwood-Kensett backs to score. He rushed for 117 yards and three touchdowns on nine carries.
Dawson VanRywsyk added 82 yards and a touchdown on five carries, and Mason Olson had 35 yards and a touchdown on three carries.
Big things happened each time Vikings quarterback Josh Einertson dropped back to throw.
He completed three-of-five passes for 89 yards with a pair of touchdowns and an interception.
Northwood-Kensett’s defense was led by Bratrud, who had 9 1/2 tackles. Van Ryswyk added seven tackles.
Marty Hopperstad had an interception for the Vikings and returned it 25 yards.
Northwood-Kensett (3-2 overall, 3-0 8-Man District 3) has outscored its opponents 151-20 in its last three games.
The Vikings are No. 2 in the district standings. Janesville (5-0 overall, 3-0 8-Man District 3) is No. 1.
Next, Northwood-Kensett will host CAL Community (0-5 overall, 0-3 8-Man District 3) on Homecoming at 7 p.m. next Friday.
