The Albert Lea girls’ tennis team fell in both matches Monday during a triangular at Stewartville.

The Tigers lost 6-1 against Stewartville and 5-2 against Winona Cotter.

Against Stewartville, Albert Lea’s Rachel Wallin won 6-2 and 6-1 at No. 2 singles.

Against Winona Cotter, Lexus Saltou won at No. 4 singles. Anna Boettcher and Maddy Willey won at No. 3 doubles.

Albert Lea coach Matt Levorson said the lineups were shifted due to the absence of No. 1 singles starter Mercedes Saltou.

“It wasn’t our regular lineup, it was just something we wanted to do for fun,” he said. “We missed her, but it was good experience for the other girls to get bumped up.”

Next, Albert Lea will host Winona at 4:30 p.m. today.
