The second set slipped away from the Albert Lea volleyball team, and the Tigers lost 3-0 Tuesday against Owatonna at home.
Set scores were 25-13, 25-23 and 25-21.
“We had difficulty in the first set getting into rhythm, but I was very pleased with how the team responded in the second and third sets,” said Albert Lea coach Lisa Deyak. “The second two sets were probably the best challenge we’ve given Owatonna in years.”
The last time the Tigers took a set from the Huskies was in 2008, and Owatonna won the match 3-1.
Hope Landsman led Albert Lea with nine kills. Camryn Keyeski posted a team-high 16 digs to go with seven kills. Newcomer Bethany Tennis added 10 digs.
Next, Albert Lea (4-13 overall, 2-7 Big Nine Conference) will host Austin (3-20-2 overall, 0-9 Big Nine Conference) at 7:15 p.m. Thursday.
