ARDEN HILLS — The U.S. Army Reserve has honored members of a Twin Cities-based unit who spent more than nine months deployed in Afghanistan.
Roughly 100 soldiers were celebrated this weekend during a ceremony in Arden Hills after returning from the deployment in April. The 203rd Transportation Company provided supplies and support to more than 15,000 military members and civilians in northern and eastern Afghanistan.
Each of the soldiers took home an encased folded flag from the ceremony to commemorate the unit’s first tour of duty oversees.
Sgt. Eileen Cedarholm said she feels lucky to be recognized. She said the soldiers who came before her and her colleagues deserve equal thanks.
