Viola Bendickson, 1923-2014

Viola R. Bendickson, 91, of Lake Mills died Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at Highlands Health & Rehabilitation in Bella Vista, Ark.
Memorial services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Salem Lutheran Church with the Rev. Peter Soli officiating.
Vi’s family will greet friends one hour prior to the service at Salem Lutheran Church.
Inurnment will take place at Salem Memorial Cemetery in Lake Mills.
Viola Romaine (Maurstad) Bendickson was born May 19, 1923, in Frost, the daughter of Matilda (Brekke) and Rolf Maurstad. They lived in Mason City.
Her life changed when she met Marvin Bendickson. They were united in marriage Nov. 23, 1949, in Olivia. This marriage was blessed with four children, Steven, Marcia, Linda and Laureen. Vi lived and worked in Lake Mills all of her married life. She belonged to Salem Lutheran Church and American Legion Auxiliary.
In 2006, Viola moved to Bella Vista with her daughter and son-in-law, Marcia and Randy Mincer.
There she attended Bella Vista Baptist Church where she acquired many friends.
In May of this year, due to health reasons, Vi moved into Highlands Heathcare and Rehabilitation Center. This she called her “home” and she made many friends. She loved to pick on the staff and was very much loved by them.
On Friday, Nov. 7, 2014, at the age of 91 years, 5 months, 19 days, she said, “Enough, I want to go see my Father in heaven.”
Viola was preceded in death by her husband, her mother and a daughter.
She leaves behind a son, daughters, a sister, many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be missed!
