MINNEAPOLIS — Prosecutors said an argument near a Minneapolis light-rail station preceded the fatal stabbing of a homeless man over the weekend.
Hennepin County prosecutors on Wednesday charged 25-year-old Anthony Bowker of Minneapolis with second-degree murder.
Bowker is charged in the death of 58-year-old Gerald Davis of St. Paul.
County Attorney Mike Freeman said surveillance video captured what appeared to be an argument between a group of men and the victim about 15 minutes before Davis was stabbed Saturday.
Bowker was arrested early Monday at a homeless shelter in downtown Minneapolis. He remains in jail, with bail set at $2 million, and is scheduled to appear in court Thursday.
Freeman said despite the killing, light-rail travel remains safe in the Twin Cities.
