Deloris Emery, 1929-2015

Memorial services for Deloris M. “Dee” Emery, 85, of Albert Lea will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at First Lutheran Church. The Rev. Kyle Fever will officiate. Interment will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Sunday at Bayview/Freeborn Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Online condolences are welcome at www.bayviewfuneral .com.
Deloris died Tuesday, Jan. 27, 2015, at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.
Deloris Mary Emery was born March 31, 1929, in Albert Lea, the daughter of Alexander and Dea (Mathison) Stanzuk. She grew up here and graduated from Albert Lea High School in 1947.
On June 12, 1949, Dee was married to Clifford Emery at First Lutheran Church.
Dee was retired from Wilson & Co. and from JC Penney. She was a past president of the Moose Lodge Auxiliary. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church and loved doing volunteer work. She volunteered with the RSVP program and with Semcac. She was a member of the Red Hat Society and the Senior Citizens Center. She loved doing puzzles, playing bingo and showing movies, but above all she loved spending time with her family — especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild.
Survivors include her sons Rick (Lynda) Emery and Phil (Sue) Emery; grandchildren Nick (Tabitha), Noah, Lexi and Shannon; great-grandaughter, Blair; and nieces and nephews.
Dee was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Clifford; sisters Gen (By) Ackland, Virginia (Earl) Fargueson and Lil (Don) Dudley; brother, Harry (Regina) Larson; brother-in-law, Clement (Dorothy) Emery; nephew, Ron Ackland; and niece, Penny Spilde.
