Editorial: Contact your elected officials

Published 10:14 am Wednesday, January 21, 2015

We urge you to contact your senators and representatives in Congress about any federal issues you feel need addressing in 2015. Cut this list out and post it on the refrigerator.

By the way, emailing your elected officials usually is handled by going to their website and entering information into a form page.

Here is their contact information for postal mail, telephone and website:

That list should do the job for anyone living in the Tribune coverage area.

There is, however, one other elected official in Washington for whom readers seek contact information to address matters of the nation:

President of the United States

Barack Obama

The White House

1600 Pennsylvania Avenue NW

Washington, DC 20500

202-456-1111

whitehouse.gov

The White House suggests that when writing a letter to the president type or print on standard letter-sized paper (8 1/2 by 11 inches). If people handwrite a letter, be a legible as possible. It also asks that writers include a return address.

On Thursday, we will print state-level elected officials for the Tribune area.
