Carol Jacobson, 1945-2015

Memorial services for Carol Jacobson will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bonnerup Funeral Service in Albert Lea. The Rev. John Holt will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Bonnerup Funeral Service and again one hour prior to the service on Tuesday. Interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Austin at a later date.

Carol Jacobson

Carol Ann Jacobson passed away Friday, Jan. 30, 2015, at Mayo Clinic, St. Marys Campus in Rochester. She was 69.

Carol was born March 12, 1945, to Vera (Berg) and Chester Berndt in Austin. Carol attended Austin schools and graduated from Austin High School.

She met Arnold Jacobson and on Feb. 22, 1964, they were married at St. Olaf Lutheran Church in Austin. To this union a son and daughter were born. They later divorced. Carol had been baptized and confirmed at St. Olaf Lutheran in Austin and remained a member until moving to Albert Lea and becoming a member of First Lutheran Church. She was a certified nursing assistant and held jobs at Naeve Hospital and Oak Park Place.

Carol enjoyed meeting friends at the Eagles Auxiliary as well as camping and fishing at Best Point.

Carol is survived by her son, Lynn A. (Stacie) Jacobson, of Albert Lea; daughter, LeAnn (Fabian) Talamantes, of Albert Lea; grandchildren Chelsea, Ashley, Madison and Makena Jacobson, BreAnn Jacobson and Noah Talamantes; great-grandchildren Brynna Eggum and one on the way; brother, Bruce (Berta) Berndt, of Achen; nephews Rick (Patty) Berndt of Bemidji and Michael (Sherry) Berndt of Austin; special friends Terri and Bill Sager, Jan and Sherman Jahnessen, Jeona Aske, Kathy Stuart and Travis Berg; and her Pomeranian, Rusty.

Carol is preceded in death by her fiance, Gene Hansen, and parents Vera and Chester Berndt.
