Carol Anne Follmuth and Russell Erik Vandell, both of Albert Lea, were married at 4 p.m. May 24, 2014, at Central Freeborn Lutheran Church. The ceremony was officiated by Matt Griggs. A reception and dance followed in the Floral Hall at the Freeborn County Fairgrounds.

Carol is the daughter of Paul and Cindy Follmuth of Northwood and the granddaughter of Lois and the late Eldo Bogenschutz of Albert Lea, and Marion and the late Berton Follmuth of Glenville.

Russ is the son of Dan and Carol Vandell of Medford, Oregon, and the grandson of the late Clement and Virginia Vandell of Medford and the late Russ and Ruth Selvig of Northwood.

The bride is a graduate of Buena Vista University and teaches at Alden-Conger Public School.

The groom is a graduate of Southern Oregon University and works for MHI Wind Power.

The maid of honor was Renae Follmuth, sister of the bride, of Panora, Iowa. Bridesmaids included Sarah Gehring, friend of the bride, of Albert Lea, Lindsey Severson, friend of the bride, of Grafton, Iowa, Gretchen Stone, friend of bride, of Manly, Iowa, Jody Frisk, friend of the bride, of Ankeny, Iowa, Abby Lance, friend of the bride, of Burbank, California, and Gretta Peterson, sister of the groom, of Holland, Michigan.

Junior bridesmaids were Hannah and Claire Woodworth, nieces of the bride, and flower girls included Jocelyn and Grace Follmuth, Madison Follmuth and Meredith Woodworth, all nieces of the bride.

The best man was Tanner Owen, friend of the groom, of Ames, Iowa. Groomsmen included Josh Whitaker, friend of groom, of Medford, Perry Vandell, cousin of the groom, of Tucson, Arizona, Brian Wallin, friend of the couple, of Northwood, Dan Follmuth, brother of the bride, of Carver, and David Follmuth, brother of the bride, of Graham, Washington.

The ring bearer was Nick Follmuth, nephew of the bride.

The bride’s personal attendants were Kristi Kuester, friend of the bride, of Spencer, Iowa, and Becky Hanson, cousin of the bride, of Northwood.

Ushers included friends of the bride Aly Schulz of Glenville, Arianne Learn of Nicollet and Jennifer Molitor of Osage, Iowa.

Music was provided by Sheila Rame, Harry and Judy Follmuth, and Renae and Holly Herr. The host and hostesses were Mike and Jill Bogenschutz, uncle and aunt of the bride, of The Woodlands, Texas, and Becky Koch, aunt of the bride, of Littleton, Colorado.
