Lawrence Schwartz, 1928-2015

Lawrence “Larry” Schwartz, 86, of Austin died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at Prairie Manor Care Center in Blooming Prairie.

Larry was born Oct. 16, 1928, in Austin to Charles and Elizabeth (Fink) Schwartz. He graduated from Austin High School.

Larry married Joyce Sayles June 19, 1948, at Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Austin. He worked for Geo. A. Hormel Co. for 38 years, retiring in 1984. He was a member of St. Edward’s Catholic Church. Larry was a devoted and loving father and husband and he will be forever missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce; two brothers; and three sisters.

Larry is survived by his daughter, JoAnn Enright, of  Austin; sons James (Judy) Schwartz of Alden, David (Denise) Schwartz of Newport and John (Jennie) Schwartz of Willmar; grandchildren Jeff (Christa) Daily of Austin, Brian (Tressa) Daily of Shakopee, Jennifer (Bill) Tilford of Pine Island, Mark (Nicole) Schwartz of Austin, Kristine Schwartz of Walker, Kerri (Eric) Nelson of Bemidji, Dan (Sarah) Burdett of Willmar and Chase Christopherson of Alden; six great-grandchildren, Gabrielle, Gavin and Cali Tilford, Taylor and Paige Daily, and Lily Burdett; sisters-in-law Roberta Schwartz of Rose Creek, Elaine Harber of Austin and Muriel Sayles of Austin; and nieces and nephews.

Casket bearers will be Jeff Daily, Brian Daily, Jennifer Tilford, Mark Schwartz, Kristine Schwartz and Kerri Schwartz.

Funeral services will be at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Clasen-Jordan Mortuary chapel with Deacon John Kluczny officiating. Visitation will be at the mortuary on Saturday for one hour before the service. Interment will be at Calvary Cemetery.
