ST. PAUL — The Albert Lea wrestling team advanced to the Class AA state semifinals with a 42-12 win over Foley Thursday morning in the quarterfinals at the Xcel Energy Center in St. Paul.

Zach Glazier gave the Tigers a 6-0 lead with a fall in 5:57 at 106 pounds, and Albert Lea went on to take a 29-0 lead.

Albert Lea, the No. 2 seed, won 11 of 14 bouts. Foley was the No. 7 seed.

Next, the Tigers will take on Scott West. No. 3-seed Scott West beat No. 6-seed Milaca/Faith Christian 46-23 in the quarterfinals.

There were no upsets in the first round. The No. 1 seed, Simley beat Worthington, 39-21, and No. 4-seed Totino-Grace beat No. 5-seed Perham.
