It’s a weekend full of fundraisers and meals for the Albert Lea area: There are six fundraisers or meals over the weekend.

These fundraisers range from the Daybreakers Kiwanis scholarship fish fry fundraiser to the Albert Lea Township Fire Department fundraiser; all of the fundraisers will be serving food.

Many of the meals are accepting donations in place of a flat entry fee.

There’s plenty more to do this weekend, so check out what’s on the planner below.

 

Friday

• The Albert Lea Township Fire Department fundraiser will be from 4:30 to 8 p.m. at the Albert Lea American Legion Club, 142 N. Broadway. Tickets are $8. The fundraiser will serve baskets of either hamburgers, chicken strips or pulled pork with fries, fixings and a drink.

• St. Theodore Catholic Church will have a fish fry from 5 to 6:30 p.m. at St. Theodore Catholic Church’s Marian Hall, 315 E. Clark St. Cost is $9 for adults and $5 for children 5 to 12. Children 4 and under are free. Fish, shrimp, baked or mashed potatoes, cole slaw, rolls and beverages will be served. There will also be a build-your-own sundae bar.

• Experience “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” at 7:30 p.m. at the Marion Ross Performing Arts Center, 147 N. Broadway. Tickets are $18 for adults, $10 for students.

 

Saturday

• There will be a science fair from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at Northbridge Mall, 2510 Bridge Ave.

• The Emmons Firemen and First Responders will have a soup and pie supper from 4 to 7 p.m. at Emmons Lutheran Church, 490 Pearl St., Emmons. Donations will be accepted.

• Daybreakers Kiwanis will have a scholarship fish fry fundraiser from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at the Albert Lea American Legion Club, 142 N. Broadway. Cost is $10 for adults and kids under 10 are $6.

• There will be a steak fry from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Glenville American Legion Club, 331 W. Main St., Glenville. Burgers and fries are available. Cost is $13 for steak and $8 for burgers and fries.

• Enjoy swing dancing from 7 to 11 p.m. at The Interchange Wine and Coffee Bistro, 211 S. Broadway.

• The Albert Lea High School varsity choir will perform St. Elizabeth Chorale at 7:30 p.m. at United Methodist Church, 702 S. U.S.Highway 69. Donations will be accepted.

Sunday

• Enjoy Sunday breakfast from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Albert Lea American Legion Club, 142 N. Broadway. Pancakes, potatoes, scrambled eggs with or without ham, sausages, a fruit cup, juice, milk and coffee will be served. Cost is $7.

• The Goodtime Band will have a concert from 2 to 3 p.m. at Glenville United Methodist Church, 211 First Ave. S.W., Glenville. Donations will be accepted. The concert will be followed by a coffee social.
