Vote yes on operational levy

To the people of Glenville-Emmons School District:
On Tuesday, there will be a referendum to increase the district’s operational levy. Polls will be open at Glenville High School from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.
First off, let’s make it clear that this is not a vote to build a PK-12 facility. What this vote will do is help the district with the increasing costs of operating both the aging elementary and high chool facilities.
We are one of the lowest-taxed districts in the state. The Glenville-Emmons average district tax per home is $212 compared to Lyle’s $623. With falling enrollment at the high school the next few years, more money is needed to keep both buildings running.
If you don’t care about having a school in Glenville for the long term, vote no and save your money. I myself am proud to have graduated from Glenville-Emmons and thus it holds a special place in my heart. That’s why I encourage you to give Glenville-Emmons a fighting chance and vote yes on the operational levy.
