Bruce Benjamin Nichols, 80, of Alden died Friday, May 8, 2015, at St. John’s Lutheran Community in Albert Lea.
A Mass of Christian burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at St. Casimir Catholic Church in Wells. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. Military honors will be accorded by Alden American Legion Post #404. Interment will be in the Alden Cemetery with the Rev. Thomas Niehaus officiating. Bruce Benjamin was born Sept. 12, 1934, the son of Floyd and Bernice (Eaton) Nichols in Webster City, Iowa. He was united in marriage to Marilyn Dyvad on June 15, 1957, in Webster City. Bruce worked in Wells for People’s Natural Gas until his retirement. Bruce loved to watch high school sporting events, especially football and wrestling when his twin sons were involved. He was a member of the Alden American Legion Post #404.
Bruce is survived by his son, Tim Nichols, of St. Paul Park; grandson, Kyle Nichols, of Kasson; two granddaughters, Kimberly Nichols of Fridley and Amanda Nichols of Lake City; great-grandson, Nicholas Wobbe, of St. Paul Park; and a host of friends from Alden.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Thomas Nichols, in 2009; and his wife, Marilyn, in 2013.
